Pursuing Your Dream One Mile at a Time

Aloha is...driving across country in pursuit of your dream.

After a year of reconnecting and connecting our passions and purpose, I'm so pleased to give a big shout out to my friend and colleague for believing in herself and her dreams enough to pursue them one mile at a time with a cross-country road trip to California where she will launch her own bicoastal coaching business!

By the time she reaches her final destination in San Clemente she will also be launching her new business website, DrivenBeyondExcellence.com as well as her passion project, The Driven Women Project. This initiative not only highlights strong women who have forged careers in roles predominantly filled by men, but aims to inspire young women with authentic female role models..

I first met Erin about 10 years ago when we both worked at the same company in Stamford, CT.  We worked in different departments, but we met one happy hour through a mutual friend and immediately connected over sad boyfriend stories.  Since losing my job shortly afterwards with the 2008 recession, we lost touch.  Years later I "bumped" into her on Facebook, again through mutual friends, and saw that she had been living in my hometown of New Milford right around the time I moved to San Diego.

Since then, we've again connected over the same things only to find we were living parallel lives - in our relationships and our career paths.  While we may be 10 years apart in age, we have both never been married nor had children of our own but found ourselves involved with men who had sons.  So, we both became instant stepmoms, navigating a whole new world together.

We also share a passion for women empowerment initiatives as well as for empowering all people to become their best selves and live their best lives. A performance coach, Erin specializes in business coaching as well.  And now, she is taking her passion and purpose on the road to California - just like I did!  The only difference is Erin is hoping to work and live on both coasts in different parts of the year.

It takes real courage, faith and "self powers" in confidence, esteem, love and worth to make a commitment to taking a chance to make a change in your life and to claim your destiny with positive action.

Congratulations, Erin, for stepping onto the path of personal and life transformation and showing others it can be done!  Now, that is living a life of aloha!

Live, Love and Lead with Aloha.
