As adults, we can be more mindful of the foods we eat and become slaves to our diets. We can overthink and analyze every calorie we consume and allow them to rule our daily lives. It’s good to be mindful of your diet, but it’s unhealthy to become a slave to it.
A proper diet is definitely a cornerstone of good health. However, good health is not only the foods we eat but also how we treat ourselves and each other on a daily basis.
Being fit and healthy also means having a positive mindset, practicing kindness, setting healthy boundaries, having meaningful connections and open communication, connecting with nature, and moving our bodies.
Self-care is anything you do to positively impact your mind, body, and spirit with love, kindness, and compassion. This means to be easier on yourself by not being so critical and judgmental. Give yourself a break and cut yourself some slack from time to time.
So, whether you’re celebrating a birthday, a promotion, or friendship with your besties, allow yourself to experience it thoroughly. Don’t hold back. Have that slice of cake. Life is just too short.
In the end, people won’t remember what you ate, they will remember how you lived and loved.
