Hard times test our faith. Desperate times can make people do desperate things. But, what if you chose to believe everything will be alright? Even if you don’t yet know how things could get better, it is still possible to move gently in the direction of hope.
Despite your fears or doubts, choose to believe things will work out. If that’s hard to do, fake it 'til you make it. If you can believe in the tooth fairy or Easter bunny for eight years, you can pretend that things will work out for one day. Just repeat it every day as you put one foot forward at a time.
In the meantime, focus on what you can do better to make your life better. Act like things will work out. Do things as if things are already working out.
You might not be able to do everything you want to do, but even thinking better thoughts gets you closer. Treat yourself with as much love, kindness, and compassion. It will help you cultivate more positive thoughts and shift your mindset to a hopeful one. In turn, a better mindset will create the kinds of actions that will turn your life situation around.
Until then, repeat this affirmation. It can be just what you need to hold on another day.
