Have you ever had a moment when you asked yourself, how did I end up here? When you look around at your life, do you sometimes wonder what happened to your plans? When our best-laid plans in life don’t go as expected, it’s only natural to be disappointed and discouraged.
Life is a series of choices, decisions, and actions. Every person we meet and every experience we have on our journey in life can alter our plans and forever change our destiny. Sometimes it creates a great result, but sometimes it doesn’t.
Whether you are happy or disappointed with how your life turned out, accept that life happens. Change happens. In fact, change is the only constant in life. There will always be things out of your control that create change. But, you are always in control of your attitudes and actions. That's where your power lies. This is the foundation of transformation.
If you don’t like anything about yourself or your life, it is up to you to do something about it. So, exercise the power of choice. Transforming your life starts with choosing to think about yourself and your life differently. In other words, change the way you see your current circumstances so that you can feel differently about them, too. When you change from within, everything around you begins to change in response.
How you think and feel about your life or any situation in your life is powerful because they determine your actions. Your actions ultimately define your destiny. Therefore, once you make shift in your mindset, your actions will shift in response. Your results and outcomes reflect your actions.
One way to help shift your mindset is to find gratitude in your journey. Gratitude shifts your mindset from a negative to a positive one. To better appreciate your life and where you ended up, look for the life lessons in the steps you've taken so far. Once you've found the lessons, be grateful for them. Being grateful creates a space in your mind to cultivate love, kindness, and compassion. When you treat yourself with more love and respect, you can also be gentler with yourself. It will help you shut off the critical voice in your head so that you can learn from those lessons. As a result, your new attitude will trigger new actions. Therefore, a positive shift in your thoughts, feelings, and actions will lead you on a new path to destinations.
So, don’t worry about how you got where you are, and don’t worry about how you will get where you want to go. Take your attitude and actions one step at a time, but be positive as much as possible. Positive actions are actions that support your goals and dreams. They ultimately determine the person will become and the life you will lead. The more positive you are, the more likely you will be pleased with the results. Therefore, focus on choosing as many positive thoughts and actions to help you get where you want to go in life.
If you can learn to trust this process, you can lean into the fact that you are meant to be where you are right now. Everything you have thought, felt, and done in your past has led you to where you are now. Make peace with it. In the time it will lead you to your next steps. If you maintain a positive attitude and focus on positive actions, trust that you will end up where you are meant to be.In the meantime, focus on the present and show appreciation for your journey. You are right where you are supposed to be.
