"Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you." - Oprah Winfrey
Have you ever wanted something so badly that you would make sacrafices, drop everything in an instant, or move mountains? Sometimes we don’t even know how far we’re willing to go or what we’re willing to do when we want something badly enough. That’s when you know you are passionate about something.
Passion is an intense desire or enthusiasm for something. Believe it or not, some people draw a blank when you ask them what they’re passionate about while others have so many passions, they couldn’t just pick one.
Passions do not have to be big or complicated, like traveling the world, becoming a doctor, becoming a professional athlete, or starting a business. They can be something as small and simple as a love for the color pink, animals, unicorns, movies, happy hour with friends, and rainbows. You can be passionate about things you enjoy doing, like exercising, surfing, playing guitar, painting, running 5ks on the weekends, hiking local trails, and chasing sunrises or sunsets. You can even be passionate about your own personal growth and spiritual journey - the person you want to be for your family or who you’re hoping to become as you change, evolve, and transform.
As you grow, change, and evolve, so might your passions. In other words, you might outgrow your passions, or they might grow with you. For instance, you might love swimming today, but, over time, you could develop a passion for surfing or competing in triathlons. You might love playing football as a kid but prefer coaching football as an adult. Because of your passion for riding motorcycles, you might start a business where you custom-build your own designs. Your passion for reading might inspire you to write your own book. The list goes on!
There are no rules when it comes to your passions. All you need to remember is that you shouldn’t let anything get in the way of pursuing them. If changes in your physical ability changes your ability to enjoy a particular passion, find another way to enjoy it or transform it. Just stay passionate! Having a passion relates to your passion for life.
A good life is one where you find, follow, and fulfill your passions. Exercising your passions is a healthy form of self-care. Your passions benefit your mind, body, or spirit in some way. Passion sets your heart on fire and gives your soul purpose. It helps light your path and leads the way to happiness. When you balance your life with your passions, you are happier and healthier overall. What the world needs is people who live their lives with passion. When the world is full of people with passion, the world is a better place to be.
When you live your life with passion, my Pineapple, you can reach for the stars and change the world.
