Of all the feelings you could choose to have today, why not choose to feel loved? For one full day, I challenge you to push out all negative thoughts and feelings as best as you can and focus on the feeling of being loved, one of the most positive feelings of all.
If you can look for reasons to feel mad, sad or disappointed about anything in your life, then you can look for evidence of being loved. You can either close your eyes and imagine being loved or think about all the people you have met or presently have in your life who have shown you love. Going through your index of memories, think about how you felt every time someone said or did something loving for you.
There are so many ways to express love and to feel loved. Think of all the times you may have received a gift. Do you remember the feeling of a warm hug or a passionate kiss? What was a wonderful compliment you have received? Did someone do you a favor or go out of their way to make your life easier? Has someone called to check on you when you were sick or feeling blue? Have you ever been surprised with flowers? Who has cooked you a hot meal?
These are all wonderful ways of being and feeling loved. But, let's not forget the greatest love of all, self-love. Loving and being loved by someone always starts with loving yourself. So, don't forget all the nice things you've done for yourself - from all the times you've practiced self-care (exercising, getting your nails or hair done, cooking a healthy meal or meditating) to all the times you've given yourself credit for a job well done or having the courage to get out of your comfort zone. These all count, too!
If you really want to help reinforce this positive feeling, consider writing down as many of these loving memories as you can remember. This is a great exercise to do when you're feeling sad, lonely, depressed or even anxious.
I hope you feel loved today, my Pineapple, because you are loved!
