12 Days of Christmas Aloha: Day 4

18Dec

On the fourth day of Christmas Aloha, I donated to a food drive run by a local Girl Scout troop.

One day while walking my dog, Pinto, the next block over from my house, I noticed a flier stapled to a light pole from a Girl Scout. Her troop was doing a food drive for a local organization, and the deadline was near. On this flier, she outlined the items most needed.

I had plans to go to Costco that day anyway. Between the items I picked up (canned chicken, tuna, and oatmeal) and items from my pantry (snacks, canned beans, canned fruit), I had enough to fill a laundry basket!

Then yesterday, I drove to their house to drop off my donation. She and her mom were thrilled and it was nice to meet someone new!

When you help a Girl Scout, you:

🎄 Boost her SELF-WORTH because she feels valued for her service.

🎄 Boost her CONFIDENCE because she learns she can do something that makes a difference in the lives of others.

🎄 Boost her SELF-ESTEEM because she feels good about her efforts.

🎄 Boost her SELF-BELIEF because she sees she can set, strive, and succeed in her goals.

🎄 Give her HOPE that people will help others in times of need.

🎄 Show her that the power of LOVE, KINDNESS, and COMPASSION is accessible to everyone.

*For the 12 days of Christmas Aloha, I'm using the 12 days before Christmas to inspire people to be more loving, kind, and compassionate with themselves and each other.
