On the sixth day of Christmas Aloha, I sponsored a wreath in memory of a veteran.
My friend and retired USMC sergeant major, Phillip Orellano, recently shared information on LinkedIn about National Wreaths Across America Day. The mission of Wreaths Across America is to remember, honor and teach others about the sacrifices of our fallen heroes. As part of their mission, each December they coordinate wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.
While I missed the registration to lay a wreath at a local cemetery, I was still able to sponsor one for $15. If that is within your budget, please consider honoring a fellow American for his or her service to our nation with a holiday wreath today. I believe when you honor a hero, you honor their family, too.
*For the 12 days of Christmas Aloha, I'm using the 12 days before Christmas to inspire people to be more loving, kind, and compassionate with themselves and each other. Practicing aloha optimizes your mental health by cultivating a positive mindset and building self-worth, self-esteem, courage, and confidence!
